Nowhere in Nichiren’s teachings a statement is found that one’s
attainment of Buddhahood depends on the High Priest.
The attainment of Buddhahood is possible only through the
individual’s efforts in faith:

“What is most important is that, by chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo alone, you can attain Buddhahood. It will no doubt depend on the strength of your faith” WND1 p 832
